VISION OR DARSHAN OF DIVINE LAND

29 May

THE FOUNT SOURCE OF RIVER GANGA:

As of today Gomukh lies 18 miles away from Gangotri glacier yet in ancient eras it dwelled in Gangotri only. The gigantic Bhagirath Shila or boulder is found there seated on which Bhagirath performed long term difficult spiritual penance. The region where Goddess Parvati did Tapas or difficult spiritual penance is called Gauri Kund. This area of Gangotri glacier in the lofty Himalaya Mountain region in India is very grand. It is believed that Lord Shiva held the terrific speedy River Ganga waters in his matted locks at this place when the river was flowing down from heaven. Over here the river water flows down from a great height emitting high decibel level noise. Naradji after witnessing the fount source of Bhagirathi or River Ganga Brahmaji the creator eulogized it a great deal:

Dhanyosi kritakrityosi dhanyo dhanyaha punaha punaha.

Yattavayasevitam tirtham punyam gangottaram muney.

MEANING: O Narad! You indeed are glorified. You have beheld the great Gangotri (glacier). You have attained self fulfillment and I honor you again and again.

A lot has been said while eulogizing this meritorious pilgrim spot:

Tapasanam tapaha sthanam muninam mananalayaha.

Bhaktanam cha viraktanamavaso hridayam priyaha.

MEANING: This is the spot of people who perform Tapas or difficult spiritual penance. It is the land where Munis execute deep meditative thinking and mental reflection on spiritual tenets. This region imbues the hearts of true devotees and sages of mental dispassion (Viraktas) with divine ecstatic bliss.

Brahmaiva paramam sakshat drava rupena dhavati.

Pumarth karanarth kau gangeti shubha sanjnaya.

MEANING: Over here it is Almighty God himself with the name of ‘Ganga’ that flows as water bestowing human beings with the blessings of attaining the 4 Purusharthas viz. Dharma (righteous living), Artha (material wealth), Kama (fulfillment of desires) and Moksha (salvation).

Kutra gangottari tirtha kutra kasha gayadayaha.

Prachand dyumaneragre khadyotaha kim prakashate.

MEANING: How much greater is Gangotri pilgrim spot when compared to the likes of Kashi, Bodha Gaya etc? In comparison to the sun of noon time say how much light can the glow worm emit?

Na papam na duracharam kautilyam kutakarma cha.

Na dharma dhwajita yatra nava dukham mahadbhutam.

MEANING: In this sacred region one can never hear of sins, vile activities, fraud etc and further no sorrow ever is experienced here.

Bhagirathtapaha sthanam trishulokeshu vishrutam.

Idam bhulok vaikunthamiti janahi narad.

MEANING: O Narad! This sacred meritorious pilgrim spot is where Bhagirath performed long term difficult spiritual penance. It is well known in all 3 worlds and can be called heaven of our world (Bhulok).

Weather and season science experts opine that this region is now slowly warming more and more. Today the snowfall is less than what it was in previous times. The Gangotri glacier is melting day by day and hence Gomukh region has receded back by 18 miles. About 1 mile of this has moved back in very few years of the recent past. Hence those who travel to the fount source spot of River Ganga have to travel 18 miles from Gangotri glacier to Gomukh. While describing this sacred spot where River Ganga first emerges it is written:

Tatra pralaye sanghat bhushite bhuvi bhushane.

Gomukhe gomukhakar mahatuhin gahvarat.

Nirgacchati mahavega ganga suratarangini.

Pavani pavanarthaya prithvilok nivasinam.

MEANING: In that region of Gomukh adorned with the jewelry of snow and ice and the glory of our earth akin to the face of a cow from the great cave of ice the auspicious and meritorious River Ganga of demigods of heaven in order to sanctify denizens of Bhulok or planet Earth gushes forth with terrific swiftness and speed.

Nine miles above the Gangotri glacier region lies a forest of pine trees and is called Chidwasa. Over here the term ‘Wasa’ means forest. Thus Chidwasa connotes a forest of pine trees. Over here a pious man of charitable disposition has built a rest house for travelers. In it although no manager has been appointed yet in order to cook food and store water some vessels have been kept. Anyone who reaches here becomes the manager of this rest house. From here commences Bhojwasa. It means a forest of Bhoja leaf trees. From these trees thick bark emerges and it works as sheets to sleep on, use as blankets, clothes and cover huts built there. In this very area 5 huts of sages can be noted and even in cold winter when it snows very heavily they do not budge from here. On the other shore of River Ganga is the hut of Swami Tattvabodhanandji. In summer season the roads to travel back and forth to this place open up and at that time these saints gather required materials for daily living spanning 9 months. With the help of fire lit with wood carry out their daily basic chores.  One saint residing here called HH Raghunathdas Maharaj does not eat food grains and instead in summer he makes a vegetable of potatoes with green leafy vegetables and in cold winter he makes a vegetable of potatoes with dry leafy vegetables and for years he has been eating this only without tarnishing his sound health. On the tree of Bhoja leaves here and there small round tuber like soft offshoots are seen and they are called ‘Bhujra’. When boiled in water very lovely tea can be made. Hence if compared to tea leaves bought from shops in cities etc this Bhujra tea is much tastier, colorful to look at and gives enough warmth in these cold icy mountain heights. For overcoming shivering cold the saints dwelling here drink this Bhujra tea daily. Over here no milk or sugar is available. Hence they boil water to make Bhujra tea, add salt to it and drink it as Kwath (Ayurveda terminology).

In this region of Bhojwasa a small river flows by called Bhojgadh. In Pahadi terminology (mountains) ‘Gadh’ means river. Bhojgadh hence means a river flowing in the forest of Bhoja leaf trees. After this region, commences Fulwasa or forest of flowers. Wherever no trees are found there small plants grow on the ground. These plants radiate with beautiful flowers in the months of Shravan and Bhadrapad (as per Hindu calendar). After crossing over this area we can reach Gomukh.

On this 18 mile stretch there is no proper road or dusty foot path also. Expert guides with the aid of known trees, stones, peaks and scenes walk ahead and take the traveler to Gomukh. On the way there are such places where if even a minor error occurs, one’s life ends. Such difficulties are faced while walking and climbing steep slopes that instead of describing it in detail here we can only say that on entering this tough mountainous terrain man by forgetting tiredness and hardships experiences an indescribable ecstatic bliss. When he compares this serene lovely lap of Mother Nature here with the noise and vile activity reeking urban life of cities he truly believes that he has come out from hell and has now got immersed in a heavenly joyous environment.

The source of Bhagwati Bhagirathi or River Ganga oozes spiritual bliss in the psyche of the one witnessing its grand exotic beauty. Lest Ganga is looked upon merely as a river even so the natural beauty here is so grand that one who has the art of appreciating beauty cannot stop himself from getting mesmerized by it. From the word Gomukh we can infer that over there must be an opening with an appearance of a cow’s mouth. From there a stream of water must be emerging yet no such thing is noted there. In the mountain of ice there is a huge opening akin to a hollow cave and from it a very speedy spray like tiny water stream gushes forth in a dancing manner. This beauty can be satisfactorily described only by an artistic mind. Lest Ganga is called a spiritual stream then from its place of source that spiritual principle too emerges with intense speed. Any person with deep faith can experience tangibly that some divine spiritual waves are wetting every iota of his psyche with ecstatic divine bliss. By itself the spiritual stream of River Ganga flows everywhere yet if its pristine purity is to be experienced it can be felt at Gomukh only.

From Bhojwasa to this area at a distance of 8 miles no rest house can be found. Here and there huge boulders stick out and under them some sort of rest can be taken. Each year, the number of pilgrims coming here has now touched about 500-600. These people have to return to Chidwasa rest house to pass the 1st night. Thus 8 miles to arrive here and 8 miles to return to Chidwasa rest house totals up to 16 miles. Hence this tortuous climb and inaccessible path becomes very difficult for the body to endure. Even if a person of faith wishing to rest here or do some spiritual practice here for sometime cannot do so because he is worried about returning immediately because the total 16 miles cannot be completed to and fro. If night sets in and heavy rainfall commences the road is difficult to find. Thus even though pilgrims like to wait here for some time they perforce return with a heavy heart. A few days back on the other shore of River Ganga lived a saint of austerities full of dispassion to the material world (Udaseen Baba). After he shed his mortal coil his hut too is getting tattered. I thought to myself lest a small rest house was built here then akin to Bhojwasa over here too people could rest and hence by staving off the fear of this mammoth walk of 16 miles in 1 day they could benefit from the sacred vibrations of this grand region that much more. The requirement of a place to rest pulled the mind towards it. The mental resolve said this is not impossible. No doubt that at this source region of River Ganga viz. Gomukh a small rest house can be built and very soon this shall come into being.

Till Gomukh it is possible for travelers to reach but after this the terribly tough rough terrain of Himalaya Mountains commences. Over there no path exists nor is there any reason for anyone to go to. It is from here that the heart center of Himalaya Mountains commences. On entering it I had to reach Tapovan region and nearby is Nandanvan. After reaching there, my goal got fulfilled. I stayed there as long as I was supposed to, I did what was to be done and I heard and spoke as much as I was supposed to. Ordinary folks have no reason to know its details. Over here it would be out of place to discuss these personal matters.

I was yearning intensely to see heaven on earth and it is only due to someone’s grace that this seemingly impossible desire to fulfill got actually fulfilled. The great grace of Almighty God and blessings of great God Realized saints can help fulfill very difficult tasks. My mind’s wish got easily fulfilled and all means required came my way unasked. There were travelers and a guide too with me. My feet that were tired and wounded now got rejuvenated and that weak body of mine unable to bear freezing cold could now stand straight. Feet that were shivering with cold started walking further ahead.

In descriptions of such journeys majority of authors pen their personal episodes much more. In it a lot of self praise gets showcased but since I wanted to abstain from this I just described the situation in these lofty terrain areas.

The inaccessible Himalayas beyond Gomukh have virtually no one coming and going there. People do not find any reason also to go there. Two miles above Gomukh from where Tapovan commences there, in the months of Shravan and Bhadrapad (Hindu calendar), very delicate and nutritious plant life grows. Lest sheep, goats etc graze on it they can become well nourished. They give birth to strong baby sheep, goats etc and their wool too are soft and of very high quality. Keeping in mind these benefits some very daring mountain folk owning goats bring them to this region for a few days. But even these goat breeders barely go 2 miles beyond Gomukh. Apart from these no other human being comes here. This is Tapovan or a place for doing penance and hence very rarely do you see humans and beasts here. Only rarely do you see here wild sheep called Barad, musk deer and brown bears roaming around. Not one tree grows here but grass and plants are seen that give off an endearing fragrance. Those who cannot endure this intense fragrance experience dizziness. If we walk a bit ahead from here a place called Nandanvan is reached. Over here the months of Shravan and Bhadrapad (Hindu calendar) are looked upon as Vasant Ritu or spring season. It is in these 2 months only that grass and plants are seen growing here wherein they sprout, mature, bloom with flowers and then wither away to naught. From the month of Ashwin it starts snowing and hence the previous lush green growth noted dies down. When this lush greenery blooms in it hundreds of varieties of beautiful, colorful and fragrant flowers grow. On noting its designing, curious forms and separate appearances it seems as though an adept painter has laid down on a smooth silky ground a sheet decorated with colorful beautiful flowers.

In Nandavan is found the Bhagirath Shikhar. It is said that the great man of penance Bhagirath dwells here eternally in the form of this mountain. This peak is as beautiful as the huge garden like flat plain below in the form of Nandavan.

Nandavan is said to be the garden forest of demigods. It is possible that in ancient eras some trees did grow here yet today only beautiful lush greenery in the form of plants is witnessed. On seeing it one gets mind boggled with the wondrous artistic skill of Mother Nature or Prakriti. A thought hence arises in the mind that if today this beautiful lush greenery in the form of plants appears so beautiful then in ancient eras when trees too were growing here they too must have been beautiful and those dwelling in its environment too must have been similarly beautiful akin to demigods depicted. When birds dwelling amongst the beautiful multicolored flowers become as radiant as them it goes beyond doubt that souls roaming in this Nandavan are as wonderfully radiant as them. A description is given regarding the beauty of Nandavan on planet earth thus:

Agahan gahanam vai lata vitapivarjitam.

Prashantamiti gambhiram vishalam grav sankulam.

Krishnaraktaiha shwetapitaiha pushpairdivyaiha manoharaiha.

Indrani kasha bhushabhiha samacchanam samatantaha.

MEANING: There is no dense forest here. There are no creepers, trees etc. It is a very serene and profound land. It is widespread and full of huge boulders. Over here bloom multicolored flowers that mesmerize the mind akin to jewelry entwined in the beautiful hair of the queen of heaven.

Aho tatratya sushmam k ova varnayitum prabhuhu.

Indropyakshi sahasrena yam vilokya na trupyati.

MEANING: Who can completely describe the natural beauty oozing forth there? Even if king of heaven Indra visualizes this beauty with a thousand eyes yet he shall remain in satiated.

In Tapovan region below a huge rock such a shady area has got created that under it about 10 people can rest. Its state is akin to a cave. Apart from this in this region there are no other shady areas that one can spend the night there for resting purposes. There are no trees at all. One cannot find wood too. One plant with a thick stem is such that by burning these stems some sort of fire can be lit. Very close to the Tapovan is the Shivling peak. Its scene is like that of Mount Kailash. On seeing it appears as though Mother Nature has rendered this peak a huge Shivling and that someone has methodically with worship rites reinstated it over here.

From Tapovan in the direction of Gomukh lies the Meru mountain peak. Below it is the Meru glacier that then heads towards the Kedarnath peak. By emerging from the Shivling peak a small river called Swarg Ganga flows by. From above its 2 streams flow in 2 directions and in the center of Tapovan they unite to become a confluence akin to Rivers Ganga and Yamuna merging into one another.

In Puranas or Indian Mythology it is detailed that River Ganga previously resided in heaven but later due to Bhagiratha’s Tapas or penance it came down on our earth in order to bless and usher in well being of world humans and other creatures. This scene can be directly witnessed here. In the heart of the Himalayas and in the heaven of earth this Swarga Ganga flows by. This very stream for some distance merges into Ganga glacier and later again manifests at Gomukh. Lord Shiva holds River Ganga in his matted locks and this scene too can be clearly witnessed at Shivling peak. On merging with Swarga Ganga it comes out from Meru peak then touches a part of Shivling peak and then flows in Tapovan region.

At the end of Tapovan is Gauri Kund touching Ganga glacier. Over here Goddess Uma dwells as this Gauri Kund very close to Lord Shiva. This divine couple of harsh strict discipline and compassion is worth prostrating to devotedly from all standpoints. Lord Shiva and Goddess Uma or Parvati dwell here in their manifest form of a mountain and pond. One is Tapas or penance and the other is sheer devotion. One is divine knowledge and the other is divine sentiments. Near Shivling peak, on seeing the duo of Gauri Kund, in peoples’ hearts oozing with sacred emotions a tangible ecstatic bliss of having direct vision of Lord Shiva and Goddess Uma or Parvati gushes forth.

On noting this heavenly scene we go ahead with the help of the Ganga glacier and thus we arrive at Manasarovar Lake at the corner of Kirti glacier. This is not equal in measure to the Manasarovar Lake in Tibet region as far as length and breadth is concerned yet from the standpoint of purity, sanctity and divine principles this heavenly lake in comparison to all water areas of the world put together bestows much more peace and sanctity.

Despite roaming in so many regions we have yet not seen Sumeru Mountain from the land below over here. It can be seen from a mountain peak but it is not possible to climb up. Since the ice is very slippery and the climb is steep without help of special means we cannot reach the top of any mountain over here simply on the basis of the strength of our feet. Hence for visualizing the Sumeru Mountain we shall yet have to go ahead in Ganga glacier area itself and from Gahan Himdhara we shall have to reach Varun Vana. From here we can see Sumeru Mountain very clearly. In Varun Vana there is a lot of mud and since it is slanted there is a lot of wetness there. Over here there are plants like those seen in Nandavan. The road further ahead is not worth walking on. From here you can see the Chaukhamba peak from where the Pandavas ascended to heaven (Swargarohan). But at this point now I shall have to give up my lure for having more such beautiful Darshans. The path ahead is obstructed. From here along with height the inaccessible roads cannot even be described fully. Hence those yearning to see heaven on earth must rest content with all those scenes witnessed so far and hence commence the return journey.

As per Agnipurana text (Indian Mythology) Lord Shiva had performed the Tandav Dance over here. When this world had got submerged so deeply in hordes of sins creatures could not dwell in peace at all. Hence Lord Shiva caught the Damru and Trishul in his hands started dancing. As a result of this Tandav Dance Pralaya or total world annihilation set in. In all directions terrific inferno like flames spread out and all that which led to sinful mankind strut about in demonic arrogance got destroyed in a flash. In that land of Tandav Dance at every step the mind asked: O Bhutabhavan-Lord Shiva! How much time remains for your Tandav Dance to commence in this present era? Is there yet some time left for the vessel of vile activities of sinful world humanity to fill up to the brim?

The region of primordial creation of humans, as per research data presented by archeologists is the Sumeru Mountain. It is here that Adam-Eve descended on earth from heaven. The incidences of Noah’s Ark at the time of Pralaya or total world annihilation and Rishi Markandeya getting Darshan or vision of God in a child’s form is said to be related to this Sumeru Mountain region. Due to these specialties for a sacredly emotional person harboring love for ancientness such a place in a certain way can become one that aids gushing forth of special pious sentiments. For me too from every unit of this sacred region so many important incidences of the ancient past was imbuing my psyche full of pious sentiments while manifesting its otherwise latent form.

I had read in Purana texts (Indian Mythology) that Sidha Yogi Sadguru exists even today yet due to the influence of Kaliyuga or Dark Era they dwell in a secret place in the lofty Himalaya Mountains incognito. In the Guru Gita text such a Sadguru has been described that by opening the eye of divine wisdom of a devotee dispels his spiritual ignorance. Such a Sadguru himself is Trimurti and Almighty God incarnate. These Sadgurus are none other than the immortal eternally embodied Rishis and Maharshis but due to undesirable influences of our modern present day era they cannot be seen by us. These Sadgurus are described in the 7th chapter of the Lingpurana text (Indian Mythology) and their residence is given as this Sumeru Mountain region. In the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapurana text (12th Canto-2nd chapter-37th verse) the residence of these Sidha Sadgurus is said to be Kalap Gram region. Again in the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapurana text (10th Canto-87th  chapter-5th, 6th, 7th  verses) a similar mention is made and even in the epic Mahabharat (Nausal Parva-7th chapter) a description of Sidha Sadgurus dwelling in Kalap Gram has been detailed.

That land of Sidhas is this one only. To have Darshan of such invisible souls with the gross eyes is possible for those rare few yet in this meritorious land such experiences definitely are felt that in ancient eras in that region where such high stature souls sported even today is not totally devoid of ancient era based divine influences. Even those who are atheists and lack trust can attain many experiences that can imbue their mind with faith. On their own faith, peace, dispassion and farsighted discrimination start gushing forth in the psyche and such an experience occurs as though over here some invisibly scattered divine powers in order to bestow these sacred emotions their compassion, kindness and faith of progress gives it as Prasad or blessings.

This small area called heaven on earth was seen. We only had Darshan of its central point of focus viz. Sumeru Mountain. It was not possible to reach there and whatever was seen keeping in mind my miniscule stature and lack of means was not any less in measure. It is difficult to say what experiences are perceived by those other people who come here yet I fully experienced it as a divine land. In ancient eras possibly demigods lived embodied but today they cannot be seen without gross eyes anywhere in these lone solitude areas. Yet that experience was felt properly wherein even today a very influential authority/existence of divine principles oozes here and with its presence again and again evoked ecstatic bliss in my psyche. Over here every object drips with divinity and divine waves in them that give the great message of the soul principle gushes forth with terrific speed. In ancient eras India was a Jagadguru or Guru of the world that gave the message of spirituality to the entire world. It seems that the fount of that divine message was attained via Tapas or spiritual austerities. The forest culture of India sprayed immortal nectar on creatures burning in the fire of sins. Who knows whether this heart of Himalaya region best amongst all forests was previously a land of heaven on earth?

In order to gauge the height and depth of peaks spread out in this region how high which place is, by knowing this it shall be easier to infer the situation that exists. Rishikesh in Uttarakhand-India is 2000 feet above sea level. Gangotri is 10,000, Gomukh 12,700, Nandanvan 14,230, Bhagirath Mountain 22,495, Meru Mountain 21,850, Satpath Mountain 23,213, Kedarnath Mountain 22,770, Sumeru Mountain 20,770, Swargarohan Mountain 23,880, Chandra Mountain 22,073 and Nilkanth Mountain is 21,640 feet above sea level.

To climb such high mountains is possible only by people possessing very high stature means and materials and those mountaineers who can spend thousands of dollars. Hence if you possess merely bodily strength and minimal means it is possible to reach only till Varun Vana. On reaching here generally all main spots that are like heaven on earth can be visualized.

On reaching this meritorious region possibly a material minded person may just see stones, ice, grass, water and a bit of nature’s beauty yet one imbued with deep faith there is a lot over here that can nourish and render more steadfast his sacred sentiments of deep faith. Due to pious principles in his psyche he feels as though all sacred principles of earth by gathering here are entering the innermost core of his soul. The mind becomes more focused and the intellect becomes serenely well balanced. In one’s bosom unasked a yearning for spiritual attainments emerges, one starts hating sinning, one’s faith in God intensifies, one gets immersed in soul bliss and devotional sentiments dance forth in the psyche. All around oneself a glimpse of Satyam-Shivam-Sundaram or Truth-Wellness-Divine Beauty is attained. The imperishable vault of natural beauty can be seen everywhere. This beauty can never be fully described via penning on paper or by verbal description because it is something that can only be experienced. A glimpse of this environment is as follows:

Dev sevyam cha tatsthanam devatanam cha durlabham.

Maha punya mahopunya purasheravalaukitam.

Naitat kevalamakshanam sadaivahladakam muney.

Sarva punyam mahatirthamurdha bhusheti viddhitat.

MEANING: This region is the home of demigods it is rare to attain it and bestows a lot of good merits. Only pious minded people can access this region and behold it. O Narad! This place not only gives joy to our sense organs but that know it to be the crest jewel of all great pilgrim spots put together.

Tathahni kaladhautabhaiha sayancha kanak prabhaiha.

Praharshayati ya chittam parvatagrailaukikaiha.

Kimayam tapaniyadriha kinva rajat parvataha.

Iti sandeha to tatra badha muhyanti manavaha.

MEANING: The psyche oozes with divine ecstasy on visualizing these divine mountains that appear to radiate moonshine like light in the day and golden light at dusk. Man ensnared by doubt thinks: Is this mountain made of gold? Is this mountain made of silver?

Both at dawn and dusk when the sun is yellow and red in hue then due to the reflection of its halo the snow capped peak due to colors of sun rays and state and specialties of itself appears as colored differently thus. One can glimpse rainbows at many places. On seeing this scene man feels as though he has lost himself in this ocean of exotic beauty.

Saundaryam brahmano rupam prakrutyamanuvartate.

Prakriternasti saundaryam swaswarupatmako gunaha.

Tadrishastadrishe sthaney brahma saudarya deepitey.

Brahmasampattimayanti bhavavishtadhiyobalat.

MEANING: Beauty is but Almighty God’s divine form. Prakriti or Mother Nature is not beautiful on its own but due to God’s divine aura oozing in it, it appears beautiful. In such meritorious regions brimming with God’s divine beauty men of God Realization immersed in divine bliss attain trance or Nirvikalpa Samadhi easily.

That soul state attained after doing a lot of spiritual practices is successfully attained more easily in quicker time on entering this sacred grand environment. Keeping in mind these specialties lest great Rishis and demigods in yester eras had chosen this divine region close to Nandanvan and Tapovan for spiritual penance definitely this decision of theirs was perfectly apt.

Today the bodily and mental state of mankind is not capable of residing in the above region. Akin to ancient times today trees and required means for sustaining life are unavailable. Even so by having Darshan/vision of this meritorious land man is capable of rendering himself glorified. Amongst us those who are brave, who enjoy good health can reach here with necessary paraphernalia.

From the scalp of Kailash residing Lord Shiva, flows the River Ganga. It yet cannot be correlated to Kailash Mountain standing in Tibet region. This is because it is impossible for River Ganga to come from Tibet to Gomukh due to its geographical condition. The journey from Gangotri glacier to Kailash Mountain in Tibet region via Jelukhaga Ghati is about 300 miles. Further many slanting mountains appear on the way no water or snowfall stream can reach there. The real Shivlok can only be seen in heaven on earth region. The Ganga glacier is close to Shivling. Swarga Ganga too is found nearby. Gauri Kund too can be seen there. Thus the Kailash Mountain of Lord Shiva holding River Ganga in his matted locks can only be this heart or epicenter of Himalaya Mountain region. Lest the ancient Kailash Mountain did not stand here say why would Bhagirathaji do Tapas or spiritual penance here? Why would he have not traveled to Kailash Mountain in Tibet region close to Lord Shiva? In this sacred land all 3 peaks viz. Shivling, Kedar and Nilkantha that are the abode of Lord Shiva are present. Hence it is natural that Manasarovar Lake dwells in this divine land. From names like Suralaya, Himdhara, Satpath Himdhara and Varun Vana also it is proved that this region is a land of gods and hence divinity. That Vasudhara where the Ashtavasus made this land their residence is near Alkapuri. By cogitating deeply over all these facts it is proved that the real Kailash Mountain and Manasarovar Lake dwells in this divine land only.

The Kailash Mountain in Tibet region of today’s modern times due to foreign restrictions from the standpoint of travel and pilgrimage is becoming more and more difficult day by day. Over there is fear of dacoit attacks too. The region is very far off too. In that land the environment is not Indian at all and our language is not spoken and our culture is not adhered to. If we go there we get a very alien feeling. At that time in the past as long as India’s culture ruled in that region also at that time this pilgrim spot could have been apt yet if we wish to have the true Darshan of the residence of Lord Shiva, the true fount region of River Ganga and true spiritual Manasarovar Lake we shall have to search for the true Kailash Mountain in heaven on earth region found in the heart or epicenter of Himalaya Mountain region. As an act of research a person must travel both to Kailash Mountain in Tibet region and Kailash Mountain in heaven on earth region found in the heart or epicenter of Himalaya Mountain region. He shall himself hence experience tangibly how peace bestowing and divine is the environment of Kailash Mountain in heaven on earth region found in the heart or epicenter of Himalaya Mountain region. Lest the Govt. of India or a rich philanthropic person repairs roads here and makes basic arrangements for staying overnight or a bit more at a few places on the way then lovers of spiritual journeys and ordinary people with a bent of mind for mountain climbing can easily reach this place and poor mountain folks staying here can work as laborers for these travelers and thus eke out a living.

From the north region of this land a road has been unearthed for traveling to Badrinath. On its own, the road used today from Gomukh to Badrinath is 250 miles yet the straight road from here is but 25 miles long. In the past 3 years many brave group of saints have already traveled from here to Badrinath. A coolie called Dalip Singh of Mukhwa village had accompanied a group of mountaineers from Switzerland. Dalip Singh had got information about this path and under his guidance 2 or 3 times this trip was made successfully. After leaving Gomukh one reaches Badarinath after making stopovers on the 1st day at Tapovan’s Shila Gufa or boulder cave, on the 2nd day at Sita glacier, on the 3rd  day at Chaturangi glacier, on the 4th day on the banks of Arba River and on the 5th day at Gastoti Mana village. By setting up a small tent in the open ground in the atmosphere of terrific biting cold all around to spend even one night is like fighting with death. Yet out of sheer tiredness one does sleep for a couple of hours by digging one’s knees in one’s tummy. Along with this people sleep sticking to each other so that some form of warmth is felt. Any bodily part that remains exposed appears such that it is melting and withering away. It is only faith and daring that renders man alert here else if travelers fear the terribly tough conditions here so as to lose their mental balance then akin to the Pandavas they shall get buried in ice here called ice burial.

On this road a height of 20,000 feet has to be crossed close to the Chandra Mountain. Since at greater heights air content is low the head feels dizzy and the mind feels depressed. Above cracks of frozen ice soft snow gathers and hence the cracks below are not seen. Thus by getting trapped in them a danger of losing one’s life looms large. Hence travelers tie ropes to their waist in an unbroken manner walk with big distances between each of them. Thus if even one person gets trapped in these icy cracks then because of the rope tied to each others’ waist one gets saved from falling fully down in those deep craters. At many places on this huge sheet of snow one has to purposely slide on the snow so as to gauge the road ahead. In early morning when ice is frozen one can walk a bit properly yet when sun rays fall on it snow becomes softer and since it melts one starts slipping much more. Then we have to stop walking. From 4 pm in the afternoon clouds cover the sky and it is not possible to see a person seated very close by also. Mist and darkness cover the sky. For eating we depend on salty Sattu flour and salted tea. A stove is a true friend over here. By making tea repeatedly on it one wards off a bit of tiredness by drinking it hot. In place of milk, butter is used and instead of sugar salt is used to make tea. At night snow becomes intense and harder and hence one can place a blanket on it for sleeping. It is very cold at that time and throughout the day and night one has to don woolen clothes, sweater, socks, shoes, muffler, cap etc. There is no question of removing upper garments and take a bath. The ice here shines like glass when sun rays fall on it but its reflection can harm our eyes. Hence during daytime dark tinted spectacles have to be worn. With the stove snow is melted for minimal cooking purposes. At great mountain heights no water is available. In the afternoon when ice melts at small holes here and there water is seen for a few hours. We can use this water also. Air content is very less at these heights. One feels very breathless, we breathe quickly and since no proper roads exist here via inference and compass directions we walk ahead. Even a little bit of weight carried can become unendurable for people not used to travel here and hence coolies living here help a lot in carrying basic luggage. In this manner so many difficulties are to be endured in these tortuous mountain heights yet on the basis of daring, faith and patience they can be overcome. Till date such traveling programs have not reported any loss of life.

THE FOUR PREDOMINANT PILLARS OF MANTRA SIDHI OR SUCCESS

18 May

In attaining success or Sidhi in Mantra chanting 4 main precepts are at work:

1)      Choice of chain of words in Mantras based on Sound Science and its methodical chanting

2)      Focused Prana Energy of the Mantra devotee via self control and a simultaneous inclusion of mental focus

3)      The material but subtle power of material paraphernalia used in devotional and worship methods

4)      A flow of sacred sensitive sentiments, deep faith, trust and a viewpoint that imbibes a high stature goal

The more the above 4 are included the more the results and miracles of Mantra Energy shall be witnessed and perceived. Wherever the above 4 precepts are ignored and just based on whims and fancies one executes spiritual practices with the intention of getting quick boons know for sure that only despair and failure shall be our lot.

Very much like other sciences, Mantra Science also is a well managed procedure and it has to be executed with immense patience and alertness. Every portion and sub portion of it has to be applied at apt places. Only if every cog or machine part in a watch is fitted in its appointed spot that it works best and shows the correct time. Similarly if the above pillars of Mantra Science are rendered well managed with alertness there is no reason why we shall not attain the desired goal. Mantra Science becomes a mockery and utter failure only when people lacking psychic credentials (Paatrata), full of haste and harboring a very unscientific bent of mind execute such hypocrisies. Thus when because of this no beneficial results accrue they fling aspersions and accusations on the very authenticity of Mantra Sciences and its practice.

The 1st pillar includes correctness of sound flow emerging from Mantra Energy. It is a well known fact that due to some blow on flowing water waves are created and they flow in the direction of the water stream. In waters that are still these waves spread all around. No doubt wind flows but its waves flow not only in the direction of the flow but it does so in all directions. Sound in reality is a vibrating wave only. In the human mind suppose a thought erupts. The brain is trained regarding with which thought in order to help the external world recognize it which type of movement has to be created in which type of Swara Yantra. Inspired by our will power in pre programmed voice machines an onrush emerges. This onrush attacks wind in our mouth and that present outside. Thus sound waves from this starts coming out. Our ears hear these only and by analyzing them the brain takes a decision as to who said what for what purpose?

Via will power mobility and from mobility waves emerge. In gross terminology these vibrations are said to emerge from air but in reality they emerge from ‘ether’ principle residing in the deep recesses of air. Ordinarily in 1 second our ears can hear vibrations of about 32 per second. If they are less than 32 we shall not hear them. Even if they are more than this our ears shall not hear and hence understand them. The atoms of ‘ether’ principle are very subtle and ultra sensitive. In 1 second they can create up to even 3,400,000,000,000 vibrations. When these vibrations reach their highest peak from them, rays of ceaselessly flowing light manifests. These rays are called X-Rays.

These rays possess wondrous mobility and generally in 1 second can travel 10,000,000 miles. Invention of radio, TV etc has been possible based on this very science. The vibrations of air get destroyed yet ether based vibrations never get destroyed. They remain immortal eternally. The more they become old they become steady on the surface of gravitational force on planet earth. When they become strong they attract other vibrations of their own class towards themselves and when they weaken in strength they get pulled towards other strong vibrations. Yet despite on aging and withering they give rise to a new consciousness on the basis of congregational power and create such a magnetic force that influences people via that consciousness conjoined to those words and sounds. Over here also the law of cooperative coexistence is at work. People influenced are those whose brain state is very similar to ancient but congregated sound vibration energy. When these states are dissimilar and not in tandem no thought, word or sound can influence anyone. It can only showcase its presence.

Sound is a tangible energy. By itself it is formless (Nirakar) yet it can be rendered with name-form. Today images and photographs of sound are being created and on its basis that person’s image can be identified from whose mouth a certain type of sound had emerged. A fact has been placed forth before us all by Science of Sound Photography and imaging that sound is a powerful material. Just as we use atomic energy, electricity, heat etc similarly sound too can be used in a similar manner. From the word and sound flow of Mantras an image/photograph gets created. On its basis the shape and form of its presiding gods and goddesses (deities) and for succeeding in Mantra practices (Sidhi) spiritual scientists have advised us to render very potent sound and word flow emerging from worship and meditation on these presiding gods and goddesses (deities).

A 25 year old young air force cadet based in the Travis Center of California’s air force was court marshaled. He was accused of passing sexual remarks over the telephone on ladies working at the telephone exchange there. By itself he was very alert that he did not reveal his identity over the phone yet police officers using scientific technology succeeded in nabbing him.

Voice images and photographs were taken to identify this air force cadet. The voice of this cadet was photographed. Then when this photograph was matched with this cadet’s voice it was noted to be the same. Even though this cadet denied his crime yet the court of justice accepted this proof and thus was meted out apt punishment.

Photographs of voices are a rare boon of modern material science. The inventor of this technique is Dr Kersta. He has unveiled such a 3 fold technique of sound analysis and the apparatus is called Spectrogram. With this anyone’s voice can be imaged and photographed. Dr Kersta says that just anyone’s thumb print does not match with that of anyone else’s and is unique in nature similarly a person’s voice also is unique. It cannot match anyone else’s voice. Thus the voice photograph of each one of us is unique and matchless. Voice photograph recorded using this technique is accepted as total proof and on its basis we can know important hidden mysteries and nabbing slinky slimy criminals.

According to Dr Kersta when every child learns how to talk it uses its lips, palate, tongue, jaws etc in a special manner and thus it commences talking. Due to this movements occur in the muscle network and its pressure falls on wind filled up in the mouth and that spread outside. From this pressure sound emerges. The rise-fall of the movement of the voice box is self created and separate from one individual to another. Hence words and voices emerging from each one of us is unique and thus every person’s voice is different in more or less measure. This difference and disparity becomes the basis of sound difference and thus no one’s voice matches with others in the world.

New Jersey-USA’s Dr Mortimer Schwartz in order to understand the inner state of the body and analyze the causes of various diseases says that man’s voice is a very important tool in this. Dr Mortimer Schwartz says that since via the use of a sthethoscope by knowing the gap between 2 consecutive heartbeats the state of blood circulation in the body can be gauged, then by minutely understanding utterances of the mouth influenced by the inner state of the body why would it be impossible to understand someone’s inner agony and state via unraveling of utterances by the mouth that are influenced by the inner state of the body? His experiments and applications have set up a new foundation in diagnosis of various diseases.

Beej or Seed Mantras generally have no meaning yet its energy is potent. In Mantra Scriptures there are innumerous Beej or Seed Mantras mentioned like Hreem, Shreem, Kleem, Yum, Vum, Rum, Lum, Aima, Om, Hum etc (with one letter and specific Swaras) and each one’s influence and method of usage has been described. This Seed Science in its pristine purity is heavily dependent on Sound Energy. Sound and words have their own power and technique.

According to Material Science vibrations are created from sound. One more fact associated with this is that when energy gets imbued in our mouth or any special material sound flow emerges. Word or sound by itself is a special state of vibrational flow. When outer air bangs into our inner air words are uttered and a Swara or sound flow commences.

There was a time in the bye gone times that pilgrim spots were in the form of Sadhana Peetha or shrines where spiritual practices were executed and were well advanced. In these pilgrim spots apt desired environment for spiritual practices, required means and materials and guidance from experienced God Realized Gurus were available. People desiring to fulfill such goals would travel to these places and would return with success. Alas! Today’s demeaned withered state of pilgrim spots is there for all to see. Today these holy places no longer help pilgrims attain that spiritual goal for which they had been set up in previous times.

This human body although tiny is yet a complete world. In it rest seeds of all pilgrim centers. Amongst these any one or simultaneously many pilgrim centers can be awakened and rendered radiantly potent. There are certain personalities who are manifest images of pilgrim centers. In the human consciousness of such a Sidha or God Realized Master/Guru/Saint sometimes if a foreign undesirable element enters it a little effort to remove it and evict it reaps wonderful success. Spiritual practices are done for this very end. If in the realm of spiritual practices the soul principle emerges victorious then innumerable types of Divine Wealth can be attained that are manifold more precious than the 14 jewels attained when demigods and demons churned the ocean (Samudra Manthan as per Indian Mythology called Puranas). A person attaining these becomes self fulfilled and then nothing under the sun remains to be achieved. The long time period when a devotee undergoes spiritual practices can be termed a terrible war between demigods and ferocious demons. In it the devotee has to imbibe skill, shrewdness and valor to the brim. This war of spiritual practice cannot be fought with a frail, weak and listless psyche. In it instead is most required a very strong will power (Sankalpa Shakti) and potent enterprise.

A mental state marching towards glorious heights on the path of well being is called divine and a psyche immersed in desires that create a massive downfall and that pursues vile tainted activities is called demonic. The 1st one is magnetically attractive and the 2nd is a repulsive demonic flow of consciousness. Man is a combined creation of both Satvva (sacredness) and Tamas (demonic spiritual darkness). Rajas (activities executed to fulfill various desires) are the middle state of these two. The middle state that leads a devotee from Tamas to Sattva is compared to churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan as per Indian Mythology called Puranas). Both Tamas and Sattva fight tooth and nail in order to emerge victorious. Our psyche engaged in activities leading towards a downfall since many lifetimes refuses to come out its shell towards uplifting. A devotee pursuing spiritual practices makes intense efforts to march towards soul uplifting from this downfallen demeaned state. As a result the state of sheer struggle noted in churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan as per Indian Mythology called Puranas) and the bloody Mahabharat War between the Pandavas and Kauravas gets created in our inner religious and righteousness arena and outer activities of various Karmas. Generally demonic behavior and activities generally prevail.

When Sadhana or spiritual practices becomes the most beloved topic of a devotee, his mind on its own gets immersed in it, he wishes to increase his hours of spiritual practices instead of decreasing them and if after getting up from worship, meditation etc the body feels zestful and the mind becomes blissfully serene know well that maturity in spiritual practices has been attained and its goal of true spiritual well being is just round the corner. In the preliminary phase of spiritual practices a lot of effort is required to attain this wholesome state of the psyche. By using one’s spiritual imagination and power of resolve or Sankalpa Shakti that type of mental condition has to be generated in a façade like form. Yet if we diligently pursue spiritual practices regularly and generally for a long time frame this blissful mental state becomes one’s very own inner nature in an effortless manner. Hence the time period of using immense efforts based on a strong will power wherein the devotee struggles a lot is actually called Sadhana or spiritual practices. When this inner blissful state becomes natural know for sure that Sidhavastha or state of Self/God Realization has been attained.

The state of the soul which has an imperishable bond with Almighty Lord and merges into God’s divine cosmic form can be called radiance of spiritual practices. When the individual soul of the devotee and the divine cosmic soul of Almighty Lord become one eternally this state of divine ecstatic bliss is called Samadhi or trance. It is not necessary that in this state we go into Yoganidra (Yogic sleep) or become unaware of the external world. In the spiritual practice of Jnana or Divine Wisdom one attains the state of a Sthtaprajna, in the spiritual practice of Karma or selfless actions one becomes very detached mentally and in the spiritual practice of Bhakti or devotion to God one attains a psyche oozing with divine love and goodwill towards every pore of entire world creation. In it although we do not become unconscious as in a swoon but yet a ceaseless divine experience of divine light of Self Realization and self contentment is felt. All doubts in this state disappear to naught forever. The devotee feels one with Almighty God and experiences God dwelling in him. The desires and actions of Almighty God and such a devotee reaches the same level. The realm of God is widespread whereas as that of the living being is limited. One is cosmic and the other is an atom. Despite this the levels of both have wondrous parity. God has no worry about his happiness and hence is immersed eternally in rendering cosmic consciousness well balanced and super advanced. In this divine endeavor God is immersed and full of divine zeal. The sanctified soul of a devotee is absolutely of this stature of Almighty God. Such a devotee no longer pursues tasks merely to look after his family and earning name and fame. Instead he is now immersed very much like Almighty God in world welfare and well being tasks for his entire lifetime. In such selfless service to the world such great saints experience divine bliss. They get immersed in such glorious tasks and hence attain natural self fulfillment. When our belief, steadfastness, deep faith etc on maturing ooze in our mental qualities, actions and inner nature know for sure that just as oneness is noted when a rivulet merges into a hige river like Ganga the same is noted as blissful union of the devotee’s soul and God’s cosmic divine soul.

When the 2 streams of sense organ control and mental focus unite human bioelectricity gets created. A cold and hot wire helps in generating electricity. Similarly when the body and mind’s energy is obstructed from getting scattered to naught via harboring of fleeting desires that power gets amassed called Prana Energy or Ojas. In Yoga Sciences students entering the realm of Yoga practices are first and foremost advised to control and mind and body in a disciplined manner. Lest human bioelectricity gets destroyed by passing through these 2 holes of an indislplined uncontrolled body and psyche say from where shall that oil and other fuel come from to aid functioning of the engine called Mantra chanting practices? Merely chanting Mantras via the tongue cannot be called Mantra practice in totality.

Prana Energy is self directed and Mantras are controlled from external sources. The 1st task of a devotee is to render his Prana Energy very potent in a terrific manner. Mantra is that gun or bow that can use various types of bullets or arrows. But this gun or bow must be in the form of a sacredly sanctified inner personality. If this gun is not working properly then even if we use a proper technique to chant Mantras the desired goal shall not be attained. Similarly Prana Energy although in a lone way is very important yet without using Mantra Power the task of awakening latent energies in the psyche cannot succeed.

In the bodily and mental pracrices pertaining to Yoga and penance energy manifests. Yet at the time of this manifestation or after it has been amassed it is not rendered well secure then bye and bye akin to dynamite it shall burn to naught. If spirit is poured into a bottle without a lid the spirit evaporates to naught. Similarly energy that is not optimally protected gets blown away to naught in a wasteful manner.

During the phase of amassing psychic and soul energies the spiritual practice executed by a devotee is watered with Sattvik food and resting habits that augment piousness, Brahmacharya or celibacy, Mauna or mental/vocal silence, living in a lone solitude area, a daily schedule that is sacred and deep mental reflection based on sacred thinking. Added to this the psyche is protected from rushing after miracle exhibition that can gve him fleeting cheap name and fame. Sidhis or divine powers can be used merely for vain goals of greed and attachment to wife, kids etc. They can also be used for one’s own and others soul uplifting. Attaining lots of mundane benefits on the basis of very less effort is bang opposite to the laws of the Science of Karma (action). If Mantra Power is used for this end it shall not last for long and in this childish play it shall get destroyed to naught in a jiffy. Yes! If we use it for soul awakening and attaining glory this Mantra Power shall intensify further in a potent manner. It is like if we rub the knife’s edge on a smooth stone the knife becomes very sharp and since rust is removed it shall shine more brilliantly also.

For attaining Mantra Sidhi (success) blood that nourishes the devotee’s body and things that create Ojas in it are of special importance. Via nourishing food the body becomes strong and via a sacred lifestyle, resting-sleeping habits etc our mind becomes strong and sacred. Coal, oil and water possess the capacity to make steam yet it emerges only with the help of the self propelling energy of the user along with that of fire used. Even power of materials is used during the phase of spiritual practices. It is from this standpoint that many do’s and don’ts and usage of various materials are prescribed. With which materials should Havan (fire sacrifice) be done for the success of which Mantra? For eating food which materials must be used? Amongst various apparatus for worship rites which level must be given predominance for procedures of all these and creating an onrush of power not self directed and power that is self propelling? It is in this way that a process is invented to create steam in engines and with it aid rotation of wheels of a locomotive train.

The boundary of food intake is spread out to our resting, sleeping and other daily life’s activities too. Hence in the realm of succeeding in spiritual practices all this has to be included yet it must also be kept in mind that what we eat with our mouth only is not ‘food’. Via the nostrils of the nose and hair pores and skin follicles air is inhaled. In it oxygen and other elements also are inhaled within and these also are ‘food’. It is well known that via injections food reaches our body within. Hence materials entering our body via Yajna/Havan fire fumes in a gaseous state inhaled by our nose also should be considered an ‘injection’. In worship rites called Anushthan the procedures of Yajna/Havan is included. It is a process via which the subtle and causal portion of medicinal herbs gets absorbed within the body. It is for fulfilling this goal that oil of certain tress and juices of certain plants are devoured via the mouth (orally) or that they are applied via bathing, massage etc.

In our diet we must take recourse to grains, vegetables, fruits, milk etc that possess special subtle qualities. From wherever they have been procured those sources must be rendered sacred and intense more and more since this also is very much a part and parcel of Sadhana or spiritual practices. Using the wood of which trees, which apparatus, with the help of which people etc this food has been cooked? In which mental condition was this food eaten? All these procedures are very important for a devotee. If a devotee performing spiritual practices very diligently eats food against scriptural injunctions (non veg food, very pungent/bitter/salty food, alcohol etc), if this food quality is very mediocre, it is cooked by vile minded people, it is served by people with tainted psyches etc then all this hard labor of the devotee goes waste and no success is reaped. Hence during the phase of Sadhana or spiritual practices first importance must be given to our food intake and diet. Even our resting, sleeping and other activities come under this. It includes all chores, activities etc carried out in day to day living and must be rendered sacredly pure.

If our food is of low quality, adulterated etc the tainted result of devouring this shall be noted on our body. Our chief diet is plant based. Milk, honey, flesh etc is but a conversion of plants devoured by animals and other creatures. In reality our body subsists on plant life only. Just as humans possess gross, subtle and causal energies so too these dwell in plants also. The importance of Tulsi (basil), Pipal, Amla (myrobalan) etc is based on noting its divine organ energies. Doctors and medical therapists help their patients avail benefits of the subtle chemical energies of various types of plant species. Its gross form can be gauged from its color, form, odor, taste etc.

A very powerful facet of lifestyle and daily living activities is Brahmacharya or sexual continence. A gross meaning of Brahmacharya is obstructing the sperms from nightfall. In reality this means disallowing all conscious powers, aspirations and desires of the body and mind from straying here and there in a scattered wasteful manner. A little force of dynamite in the trigger of the gun is used in a singular focused manner. Only then does it showcase its terrific power. Lest this much dynamite is scattered in an open area and is lit with a match stick it shall burn very weakly. A minor popping sound emerging from this can only induce mocking sneers from those witnessing all this. Instead of using bodily and mental conscious powers in directions that are scattered are used for desired spiritual goals without doubt miracles ensue. Within the boundary of medicinal intake along with food and diet our lifestyle (resting, sleeping, daily chores etc) too is encompassed. Along with the body our mind also must be properly nourished and nurtured.

In a certain sense the Science of Brahmacharya must be termed the Science of Human Bio Electricity. Every act of sexual union induces not merely sense organ (genitals also) and psyche based zest but that it also induces an exchange of bio electricity between the sexually uniting male and female. The bio electricity of women is attracting and that of men is repulsing. When they unite in sexual union the woman pulls the sperm of the man throwing it into her. All this can be tangibly felt. All this applies to bodily, mental and soul energies also. By immersing in sexual activities if a devotee becomes a ‘male’ he shall reap only losses. The female partner may benefit minutely yet the divine potential of such a devotee diminishes a lot and hence the path that takes him towards success shall lengthen all the more. Keeping this fact in mind Brahmacharya or sexual continence and celibacy has been given a lot of importance.

The 4th foundation pillar of Sidhi or success achieved in Mantra practices is Aushadhi. It means materials used in healing and other processes. Over here Aushadhi does not mean medicines, herbs etc administered to patients suffering from various diseases by their attending doctors. For spiritual endeavors the word Aushadhi is used with reference to plants, trees etc that are made to enter the human body via the mouth, nostrils or skin pores and follicles. By imbibing their subtle energies in our consciousness the soul existence is rendered so capable that it benefits optimally via Mantra Energy.

In literature dealing with Sadhana or spiritual practices their authors have enumerated varied procedures and techniques. From which portion (middle or root) of fruits, flowers etc of which tree is the rosary or Japa Mala made? Is the Asan (seat for meditation etc) made from Kusha-grass or Khajur-dates or what else? Is the Kamandalu (water pot) made from coconut or bitter gourd or what else? While washing one’s hair or bathing the body which clay or which plant product has been used? Which Yajna material is used for which goal using which plant, which tree’s wood and using which procedure? All these injunctions in reality are included in the devotee’s food cooking techninque itself.

The 4th principle used in Mantra Science is Bhavana or sacred sensitive sentiments. Faith in spiritual practices towards Science of Devotion must be so profound that no room for doubts and distrust remains. Spiritual practices executed with a mind reeking of mere superficial curiosity, an intellect that merely wishes to test them in order to ultimately prove them bogus and a suspicious psyche shall never succeed. Faith by itself is an intense power. Akin to petrol, electricity, steam etc it has its own terrific energy. A devotee harboring deep faith always succeeds but those harboring doubts return empty handed. The great result of trust and mental resolve or Sankalpa can be witnessed at every step of daily living. For attaining spiritual progress and success it is its very Prana or life force. A devotee must harbor unbroken faith towards Mantra Energy and it must be imbibed with full faith, mental focus, strong will power and sacred sensitive sentiments in all our activities.

The goal laid down in order to carry our spiritual practices must be of a very high stature. It must never be done merely to fulfill selfish material greed. Mundane joys and facilities are attained based on the price of capability, skills and efforts we pay. Thus we must buy these mundane comforts and pleasures on this basis only. Spiritual powers must be used to increase spiritual wealth and divine glories. On its basis inner potentials must be evolved and advanced highly.

A devotee must render his inner personality and activities supremely great. His viewpoint must never harbor an intention to exhibit vain Sidhis and miracles akin to childish acts. Instead very much like divine people a good hearted devotee must be so steadfast in soul uplifting and world well being activities that by renouncing fleeting material attractions and avarice once and for all he yearns to immerse himself in the bliss of his soul and divine state of God-Self Realization. When a devotee’s thinking and activities are truly great his sacred sensitive sentiments shall become comparable to the matted hair locks of Lord Shiva. In that on these matted locks it shall become possible for the spiritual River Ganga viz. Mantra Energy to pour down upon.

LIBERATION FROM MATERIAL BONDAGE VIA A SPIRITUAL VISIONOW ARE MATERIAL OBJECTS REAL DESPITE US SEEING THEM DIRECTLY WITH OUR GROSS EYES An important question to be dealt with is: Is what we see, understand and experience with our 5 senses true in the absolute sense? At the gross level the immediate answer will be in the affirmative. This is because there is no reason to say that things perceived, seen by us are illusory. We are so dependent on the dictates of our sense organs and mind that we think that objects, individuals and circumstances are absolutely true. And yet if we delve deep into this question the answer is that the so called proof of reality of objects given by our sense organs is unfulfilled and illusory in nature. Various scriptural scholars since time immemorial have advised us all not to believe our sense organs that say that our daily experiences are true and instead maintain that we should develop a spiritual vision. If we insist on accepting that all that we see and experience is the ultimate truth we sure will face many uncomfortable situations. This can be proved by the ancient example of the proverbial deer running after a mirage in the dessert in order to quench its thirst. In desserts like Sahara etc travelers have often come across mirages which from a distance look like a pond of water. A thirsty deer in a dessert runs after this mirage to quench its thirst. The eyes of the deer tells it that there is water at a few furlongs away but the more the deer tries to reach this ‘pond’ the more the latter ‘runs’ afar. Ultimately the thirsty deer accepts defeat. Another example is that of a rainbow. Try as much as you can but you can never ‘catch’ the illusory rainbow. The brilliance of solar rays that fall on water creates an illusion in our eyes and thus our eyes tell us that there is a tangible rainbow. Yet the fact remains that the rainbow is but an illusion harbored by our gross eyes. Take the example of a movie. We see pictures laughing, crying, walking etc on the screen. It seems very amazing and miraculous. But the question asked is whether all this movement clearly visible to the gross eye is real and true? Individual pictures which move at 16 second cannot be seen individually by our eyes. As a result an illusory moving scene is created. Individual pictures which are actually unmoving can be seen moving by our gross eyes due to the creation of an illusion. Voices emanating from loudspeakers come from one place and the picture is at another place. Yet our eyes and ears are fooled into believing that the picture is actually talking, singing etc. At dawn in the morning and twilight in the evening the sky manifests amazing hues. Yet are these colors truly real? Actually these different hues do not exist but because solar rays create an illusory effect in our eyes, we all notice these colors. The sky appears to be blue in color but the fact remains that no such blue color exists in space. Our eyes under the influence of illusion ‘sees’ this blue color and fools our intellect in the process. The function of the human eye is to understand the nature of an object via color perception. Yet the fact remains that majority of the times our eyes succumb to illusory effects and thus gives us wrong information. Let us study the following examples. The chimneys of mills and factories emit a lot of smoke. If you minutely analyze the color of smoke, it differs now and then. When the base of the chimney has trees, buildings etc that are not lit up the smoke color seems black. Bang opposite to this if the building trees etc are lit up with sunshine the smoke appears to be brownish. When smoke emitted from burning coal, wood etc is exposed to sunlight its color appears yellowish. In actuality smoke is colorless. The illusory color is due to the designing of the carbon atom and other material present on fuel. Light gets reflected away from it and thus smoke seems black in color. In the rail engine the tube of the boiler emits blue steam but when it enters atmospheric air, its particles become larger and appear white in color. There are many factories which use low quality coal and hence the smoke emitted is dark black in color. If one visualizes the sun through this smoke, the sun appears like dark red. Many types of germs, bacteria etc are present in water which cannot be seen by the naked eye. They can be seen only with the help of a microscope. With our eyes we can see many stars in space but the fact is that there are infinitely more stars not perceived by our eyes. Thus since our eyes have limited capacity we take the help of gigantic telescopes to view those innumerable stars not seen by our naked eyes. Even today we are unable to fathom the deeper layers and units of an atom despite the phenomenal success achieved by modern science. Its more gross aspect has been calculated via subtle mathematical calculations. No doubt scientific technology has helped in finding out the overall design of the atom and yet mathematical calculations based on inference have been of much greater help in the research of the structure of the atom. In order to find true reality we will have to make more widespread and all encompassing our research and testing methods. It is a great error on our part to rely only on information given by our 5 sense organs. Today majority of research laboratories base their testing methods on the ‘direct proof’ given by the 5 sense organs. Hence many a times they fail to come to the right conclusion. In the previous paragraphs we have detailed the fact as to how our eyes can be misled into giving wrong information like the sky appearing to be blue in color when in actuality this is far from the truth. If we insist on relying on our 5 sense organs only then we are bound to stray in darkness for eons together. Modern science uses scientific methods to prove many ancient beliefs and superstitions as false. Despite this if modern science insists on believing that their 5 sense organs are the final proof of all research conducted then know for sure that they have come out of the iron cage of superstitions etc (which is required) only to enter the golden cage of so called direct proof offered by the senses. Leaving aside some gross facts whatever we see, hear etc as far as other aspects are concerned is believed to be absolutely true. Yet the fact remains that we are far from the truth. We are very much used to believing our day to day experiences with the help of the 5 senses as absolute truth. And yet if we go deeper into all this we will realize that time and again our senses have led us in the wrong direction. In fact our 5 senses give us various experiences solely on the basis of some gross beliefs. If these beliefs are changed then our previous conclusions and inferences too will have to change automatically. Our brain centre has the capacity to give levels of information that is very common. If we remain satisfied with this then we can say that whatever we see, experience etc is truth. Yet the bare fact remains that our very hypothesis on which our 5 senses and brain function is itself erroneous to a great extent. Hence how can such an intellect realize the absolute truth and reality? This question is so tedious that it is very difficult to answer with ease. While selling fruits, vegetables etc weighing scales are made use of. The basis on which we measure weight itself is based on a hypothesis. Without this all businesses will come to a grinding halt. Yet the question remains as to whether our very basis of weighing materials is true in itself? When one thinks deeply about this our intellect will get rattled. Weight by itself has no existence since it is very relative. Weight of an object is nothing but the force required to obstruct the influence of earth’s gravitational force on the object. An object that weighs 37.33 kg on earth weighs 18.7 kg when raised at a height of 3.5 miles. The more you raise an object higher up in the air the more weight it sheds. There is an area between earth and the moon wherein if an object is weighed there it will be weightless. Even if a gigantic mountain like Everest is placed there it will be weightless. This mountain will hang in space in this area. The force of gravitation on other planets is varied. The weight of an object on planet earth will differ significantly when weighed on other planets like Mars, Neptune etc. Thus we can conclude that weight of any object is relative. This is because weight depends on certain hypothesis and circumstances. In our daily transactions we make use of the measure of speed a great deal. Speed too is as important as weight. We can reach from one place to another with the help of various vehicle options like car, plane, ship etc which have various speeds to cover distances. But the question asked is whether the basis on which speed is calculated is factual or hypothetical? While writing something seated on a chair and table we feel we are not moving and instead are steady. Yet it is a fact that we are moving at a speed of 1000 miles per hour in one direction. This is the movement of planet Earth. It is because we all dwell on Earth, we too perforce move while the Earth is revolving and rotating on its axis. Our sense organs fail to experience this speedy movement and hence it is under the illusion that or body is steady and unmoving. The sense organs experience movement only when we walk, ride a horse, move in a car etc. The Earth rotates on its axis and hence we come back to our original position after moving for 24 hours. But even this is not totally correct because the Earth revolves round the sun at a speed of 666,000 miles per hour. The Earth returns to its original position in space after 365 days or 1 year. Even this is not totally true because the sun revolves around the ‘Super Sun’ along with the Earth and other planets of the solar system. Further this ‘Super Sun’ too revolves around another ‘Super Sun’ and God alone knows how many more such cycles of circumambulations take place. Hence the gist of all this is that we cannot return to the same destination in which we are situated today at least in this birth of ours. If we move from our space we do so eternally. And yet our deluded minds insist on falsely conveying to us that we are static all the time and that we are not moving along with planetary etc movements. The measurement of speed too is illusory just akin to that of area. If 2 trains move side by side at the same speed it will appear as though both are moving and swaying identically. If 2 cars approach each other from opposite directions at a speed of 40 miles/hour they will feel as though their car speed is 80 miles/hour when they whiz past side by side. Same is the case with 2 trains that move in opposite directions (side by side). They too will feel that the speed is double while they pass each other. If the speed and direction of the movement of other planets, galaxies etc were to be ditto as that of Earth interstellar space too would appear motionless and static. The sun, stars etc would never arise nor set under such circumstances. All planets etc would remain where they were for eternity. At that time despite all of them moving at same speeds they would appear motionless. Speed is very much relative. One can measure speed in many ways. If you subtract 90 from 100, 10 remain. If you minus 20 from 30 or 40 from 50 even then 10 remain. In order to get the same difference (10 in the above example) different sets of numbers are made use of. Despite these varied numbers the difference remains the same. If you want the difference to be 1000 you can use so many numbers to get this difference. The same holds true for measuring speed. Ancient geography specialists measured speed by saying that the sun is motionless. Lunar/solar eclipses, the rising and setting of stars, planets of the solar system which gives day and night etc too has so far been measured on this basis. Yet the measurements have been totally apt so far. Despite this the premise that the sun is motionless which aids in the above measurements itself is baseless and false. When illusory premises give correct results how does one differentiate between the true and false. When one deeply reflects on this subject one’s intellect becomes dizzy. In ones daily transactions it is necessary to measure distances. Without this travel would not be possible. The Earth is divided into latitudes and longitudes. Without measuring distances air travel etc would be well nigh impossible. The 10 directions (north, south etc) are an important basis for ones successful travel. And yet by themselves they too are illusory and have no absolute existence. If you gaze at a very large pond while traveling beside it in a parallel manner it will appear that it is absolutely straight. Yet the fact is that after traveling for sometime you will reach the original position from where you started. This is because the pond is circular in nature. Even if you draw a straight line on a rubber ball, it will actually be circular. A straight line is one whose 2 ends never meet and that the distance between them is constant. In the above case of the pond and ball, a so called straight line too is ultimately circular. Even if you draw a straight line on a piece of paper, floor etc it will ultimately be circular and never straight. Minute circular lines may never be identified by us yet they will always be circular. The ground which appears flat to the naked eye too is in reality circular. The sea appears flat and yet when ships travel in it, it becomes clear that just like the ground on which water exists, the sea too is circular. The point at which the sky and sea appear to meet is called horizon. Whenever you watch this horizon it will always appear to be at a distance of 3 miles from where you stand gazing at it. If you stand at a height of 200 feet above the ground the horizon appears to be at a distance of 20 miles. All this proves that the Earth is a globe i.e. round. Despite this our naked eyes cannot perceive the Earth to be circular. Thus our measurements of distances too are faulty. The Moon is definitely seen to be higher up in space when gazed at from Earth but if after landing on Moon you gaze at Earth the latter seems to be higher up. If we could manage to station ourselves in interstellar space beyond the solar system it will be clear that there is nothing like north, south, east etc. Meaning no directions exist. Thus directions too are very much relative and not absolute. New Delhi (in India) is west of Lucknow, east of Mumbai, north of Chennai and south of Haridwar. Thus when directions to reach Delhi are given they are relative and that by itself Delhi is directionless. In worldly transactions time measurement is very much important. It is on the basis of time that offices open/close, railways/buses run etc. Our daily life revolves around time. Yet the premise or basis of time too is no less faulty. The time designated for sunrise and sunset is not as we actually believe it to be. When we actually see the sun arising, the fact remains that it had already arisen 8.5 minutes previously. This time is the time taken by solar rays to reach Earth. When we see the sun setting at dusk it has actually done so 8.5 minutes previously. There are many stars in the sky which although visible to us today have actually set thousands of years previously. This illusion is the result of the light of stars reaching Earth after thousands of years. We become actually aware of the stars setting after thousands of years. The same holds true for all the planets, satellites of the solar system. They have arisen or set much before or after the time calculated by Indian astrologers in their Panchangs (diary). One may visualize a star in the sky as straight ahead of us yet this need not be true. Light does not always travel in a straight line. Light rays too are material in nature and that it too can be weighed. Light rays falling on an area 1 mile in diameter for 1 minute weighs 1 ounce approx. It is but natural that gravitational force influences objects. When light of various stars enter the solar system it becomes zigzag or staggered in form because of the influence of the force of attraction of sun and the other planets. Despite this our eyes fail to perceive this staggered light and instead out of illusion we see it as straight. It is quite possible that it lies on the periphery of another star, sun or planet yet our eyes see this light as straight. In the same way if our eyes see a star right above our head in the sky the reality is that it could be much lower or diagonal than the position seen by us. In this manner not only directional data but also time measurements too are no less illusory in the absolute sense. Philosophical discussions do include time and space related topics. This space is certainly not some country, region on Earth etc nor is time an hour, minute etc. All these are only technical terms. The length, width and breadth of an object is called space and changes taking place in them is called time. Ordinarily objects are seen on the basis of its length, width and breadth whereas while discussing and describing it the 4th ‘dimension’ of time too should be included. But the problem is that speed and direction keep varying and are illusory too. Time is itself based on them and hence if the basis itself is erroneous how can the result of time be apt? Even if objects are said to be 4 dimensional instead of 3 yet this problem remains unsolved. What exactly are objects? What are its form, nature and quality? This cannot be described in totality because the manner in which its atoms move speedily disproves our description of it in the very next moment because of its uncertain position (something like the great scientist Heisenberg’s principle). What is big and what is small? Even this question cannot be answered satisfactorily. A stick measuring 5 feet is smaller than another which is 6 feet and is bigger than a stick of 4 feet. A tree trunk with a diameter of 2 feet is thinner than another of 3 feet and is thicker than that which has a diameter of 1 foot. We cannot say whether an object is in absolute terms. An object is labeled thin or thick only with reference to another object. By itself it is neither thick nor thin. Who is rich, who is poor, who is happy, who is sad, who is a saint and who is a rogue? These questions cannot be answered in absolute terms because all these qualities (richness, poverty etc) are relative in nature. Before let us say calling a person rich or poor we must find out whom we are comparing this person with? With reference to a beggar a person who has a job that pays him 1000 dollars per month the latter is rich. A person with only 1 sorrow in life is happy when compared to another who has 4 sorrows to contend with in life. Thus is reality we cannot say as to who truly is happy or sad. With reference to a dacoit a small time robber is more gentlemanly but with reference to a person of good character the robber is lowly. With reference to a great saint a man of good character is lower in stature. With reference to an Avatar or Prophet of God a great saint too is if a lesser class. We measure objects, individuals, situations etc only in relation to one another. Comparison is the highest measure used by us all to make ‘apt’ decisions. What exactly are the things which we measure? It is very difficult for our sharp intellect to decipher them because all of them are limited and not omnipotent in nature. In fact in a certain sense they can be called illusory too. In movie theatres pictures are seen moving on the screen whereas in reality each picture is static. These individual pictures move so fast that our eyes fail to see them in a static manner. Thus out of illusion we see these otherwise static photos in motion. Meaning actors are seen to walk, eat, run etc. Many a times our experiences are bang opposite to the actual situation. Our senses (eyes, ears etc) not only give false information but also tend to give non-existent illusory information. If we insist on depending on our sense organs to give apt information i.e. think direct visible proof as the be all and end all of life not only can we not attain true divine wisdom but that we will fail to even understand it. For example take the concept of light. What exactly is light? It is an eddy of electro-magnetic waves. The fact as to whether it is intense or weak depends on its measure but yet its overall effect is singular. It moves at a terrific speed of 1 lakh 86 thousand miles/hour (I mile=1.61 km). Light rays have 7 colors. Various types of admixtures of these 7 colors give other resultant colors.

HOW ARE MATERIAL OBJECTS REAL DESPITE US SEEING THEM DIRECTLY WITH OUR GROSS EYES

An important question to be dealt with is: Is what we see, understand and experience with our 5 senses true in the absolute sense?

A LAST CHANCE TO TAKE PART IN THE DIVINE PLAY OF THE INCARNATION OF DIVINE WISDOM

10 May

This world created by Almighty God has 2 aspects viz. creativity like apt management, beauty etc along with destruction in the form of downfall etc. Despite this creation and evolution for the better predominate. Despite natural calamities, creatures like worms, bacteria etc dying every moment one reality stands out and that is we see flowers blooming, luscious fruits growing on trees etc which adds to the creative grandeur of this world. It will always last much longer than any form of destruction. In order that creativity continues undisturbed destruction must follow creation and vice versa. For example the sun rises and sets in the evening, creatures are born and die one day etc.

Man should wholeheartedly accept that he will have to face dire and destructive situations on the one hand and others full of creative joy. Hence he must with a balanced mind not become gloomy when sorrow comes his way, nor go overboard when joy is his destined lot. Today your new born child will go through childhood, youth and finally old age. And when he/she dies again it is a golden opportunity for a fresh new body. Thus destruction (death) follows creation (birth) which is a continuous cosmic process. Everyday we experience the cycle of day and night. Do we despair when darkness manifests at night? Never! Because we know that dawn and hence daylight is but a few hours away. In the same way when dark situations envelope our world we must not despair because a radiant future is about to manifest at the appointed hour.

In the annals of world history world humanity has been witnesses of many a trying times and dire situations. To the extent that people asked: Is this the final doomsday for our world? And yet the Creator has always vowed emphatically that never will He allow total annihilation of this world of grandeur along with man and His other beloved creatures. Divinity incarnates (Avatar) so as to ward off destructive situations and replace them with a new vigor of divine creativity. In these days this is exactly what is happening. Today people are on the verge of losing faith in god’s omnipotence because of strife, terror, dishonesty, crime etc having a stranglehold in our daily lives the world over. Today’s times are extraordinarily dire. In this phase of spiritual darkness awakened and wise men/women must have indomitable faith that within the next decade something extraordinary will take place which will transform our world in a radiant manner.

The onus lies on followers of spiritual principles and great religious leaders of the world to transform the creative energy of world humanity in a divinely radiant manner. In that the divine sentiments of all laymen must be nurtured and tapped to the fullest. Inaction and apathy must be weeded out from their roots so that the seeds of divine faith start sprouting forth. We must eradicate unwholesome and vile elements so that divine glory and radiance prevails in every nook and corner of the world. It is a well accepted fact that when creative principles weaken the soul drowns in ignorance and man experiences material poverty too. At such times even wise men succumb to the fleeting lures of sense pleasures in unethical ways. Thus vileness virtually remains unchallenged and thus wantonly sells its wares of crime, undesirable behavior and despicable actions. To a great extent today’s times too are of this kind. In that creativity is almost ‘dead’ and destruction has taken over with full force. The world over there are communal clashes, caste based hatred, criminal leanings, no respect for ethics/ideals etc. Politically and socially too we are indeed leading unwholesome lives which forces the layman to distrust just about anything. When ethics, integrity etc are on the decline and crime, lowliness etc are honored the question definitely arises as to what is going to happen to this world?

We all are very fortunate to have taken birth in glorious India. Although we have seen dark periods for almost 1500 years yet our root culture remains intact. We have that touch stone called Gayatri philosophy and Yajna. Hence there is no dearth of faith in our psyche. In the past 6 centuries of Indian history great saints like Kabir have taken birth one after another. This statistic of so many saints manifesting in India is of an extraordinary kind. Some of them nurtured devotion to God, some took up social issues, some encouraged the path of selfless action (Karma Yoga), some asked their followers to give up despair and work for world welfare with zest and some performed austerities on their own for transforming the subtle world which would then manifest as radiance externally. Our revered preceptor Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya was born in the first decade of the 20th century in Uttar Pradesh, India. His village was Anvalkheda near Agra city. He is said to be the incarnation of Gayatri and shared the priceless pearls of divine wisdom with one and all. Thus he was a divine beacon light that instilled hope in the hearts of all regarding advent of a bright 21st century.

At that time the wisdom of Super Power Gayatri Mantra was virtually in a sleep like state. It is highly probable that because of fundamentalism only Brahmin males were allowed to chant the Gayatri Mantra. Thus Gayatri Mantra was not given due importance for ones material/spiritual well being. It is at that point that Gurudeva took up the sacred mission of spreading the Gayatri wisdom in all households without any bars like caste, creed, gender, financial status etc. Millions of people now chant the Gayatri Mantra regularly and lead lives of material prosperity that have their roots in spiritual wisdom. Gayatri in her divine formless aspect transforms the thinking of aspirants in a divine manner and thus has incarnated in this material cosmos of ours. In this manner the International Gayatri Family or All World Gayatri Parivar came into being for both the spiritual and material well being of world humanity and world beings. Thus was commenced the sacred mission of elevating the psyche of world humanity in a sacred manner, so as to realize the age old dream of great leaders and thinkers of the world i.e. A BEAUTIFUL BORDERLESS WORLD.

Every alphabet of the 24 alphabets of the Gayatri Mantra is a ray if divine light. They have all those seeds that help the human psyche transform into divinity and hence sacredness. The sun is the deity of Gayatri and is known for its 7 faces, 7 horses, 7 weapons and 7 rays. And yet it predominates with the vital force (Prana Shakti) of Gayatri called Savita. The 24 letters of Gayatri Mantra contain both Ridhi and Sidhi i.e. material and spiritual prosperity. One can understand its deep import by studying the profound meaning of each of these 24 letters. True supremacy can only be attained when one prospers materially in this world when it has a strong foundation of spiritual well being and imbibing of human values, ethics, integrity and a sense of service to world beings. Material supremacy without spiritual values is a sure shot recipe of leading a life of downfall and sorrow. The sacred mission of Prajna Avatar (Wisdom Incarnation) is to encourage mankind to prosper scientifically, materially etc but that they must be deeply rooted in spiritual values that usher in well being of the entire world. Prajna Avatar is not a divine human being like Krishna, Ram, Christ etc. Instead it is a strong cosmic wave of a Divine Super Power (Shakti). The more any individual the world over manifests this Divine Power the more he/she will be responsible for ushering a radiant 21st century full of material and spiritual well being.

How can a Divine Power which is beyond name and form transform this era in a radiant manner? The answer will be actually witnessed in the near future by one and all the world over. This very formless Divine Super Power will induce world humanity to renounce psychic taints like anger, greed, lust, hatred etc and instead imbibe wholesome qualities like oneness of soul, cosmic love, sense of service to all, integrity and ethics. Twenty six Ashwamedha Yajnas conducted so far have given a fair bit of proof for this wonderful transformation. Thousands have given up lowly actions and behavior. Many have renounced alcohol, drug and cigarette addictions and instead have imbibed divinity of soul (60 to 100 million people). They have resolved seriously to give up inner taints and imbibe human and divine qualities in their soul. On this very basis our era can be transformed so as to usher in Satyuga or the Golden Era. It does not matter too much if people have faith in this or otherwise because when the world history of the next couple of decades will be written it will be clear that the world definitely has been transformed in a sacred/divine manner. And the credit of this transformation will be given to none other than the Prajna Avatar or the formless Divine Super Power spoken of in the above lines.

SUPER POWER GAYATRI CONNOTES SAVITRI AND SAVITA

7 May

Since Gayatri Mantra has been described as the 4 Vedas, it is called Vedmata or Mother of Vedas.  Despite being Mother of Vedas, Gayatri is a Vedic Mantra.  Each Mantra of the Vedas encompasses a Chand (Metre), Rishi and demi-god.  After reflecting and chanting it, Viniyoga (attainment of a goal) is executed.  The Chand of Gayatri Super Mantra is Gayatri, Rishi is Vishwamitra and demi-god is Savita.  In layman’s terms sun is called Savita.  Gayatri is also the presiding deity of Savita and hence it is also called Savitri.  Savita and Savitri are called a couple.  In preliminary meditation Gayatri which is Savitri’s divine energy is depicted as a female.  In a human form She is depicted as an idol of a Goddess.  This is indeed most appropriate.  By meditating on such a Goddess, a spiritual seeker imbibes the Goddess’s sacred motherly qualities such as purity, oneness of heart, greatness, goodwill, service and spiritual endeavour.  By worshipping the idol of this Goddess one develops respect for all women of the world.  In the Vedas, a pure intellect, Ritambhara Prajna, discrimination or Viveka, farsightedness etc. have been given a feminine gender.  Hence it is apt that symbolically this divine thought flow has been painted as a female.  No change accrues in the nature of Gayatri Super Power when it is depicted as a female idol in our preliminary spiritual practice.

Even in devotion based on name and form (Sakar), Mother Gayatri is visualized on the mental screen as a Super Power seated in the center of a radiant sun.  She is understood as one seated within the sun i.e. “Suryamandal Madhyastha” and this precept is taught to others too.  Spiritual seekers who worship God as having name, and form, meditate on a Goddess seated at the centre of a brilliant sun with a book, flower and waterpot in the hand.  Spiritual seekers meditating on a formless God (Nirvakar) visualize God on their mental screen as brilliant light in cosmic space.  Whether worship is Sakar (with name and form) or Nirvikar (nameless and formless), both meditate on the brilliant sun.  Without brilliant light one cannot meditate on Gayatri Super Power.

“An intelligent human being should meditate and do Mantra Japa on Goddess Gayatri represented by the sun at sunrise, noon and sunset (Trikal Sandhya).”

         SHAKANAND TARANGINI (3/4)

Alongwith Japa (Mantra chanting), a Nirakar (formless God) spiritual seeker meditates on solar aura as a representative of Gayatri’s image.  In Sakar (God with name and from) devotion one meditates on Gayatri’s female image within the radiant sun.  It is most required that a brilliant solar aura surrounds Mother Gayatri’s divine image.  It is indeed a mistake if Mother Gayatri’s image is not surrounded by a solar aura. At the end of Gayatri worship, Japa is completed via Arghyadan (offering) to the sun.  During worship rites it is a must to use a flame lamp, incense sticks and invocation of fire since these represent the sun.  A part of Purascharan involves offering Ahuti (sacred materials) to Yajna fire.  Fire is invoked since it is a nearby representative of the sun that resides billions of miles away.

Savita and Savitri are coupled together not on the basis of some vain imagination but on the basis of certain precepts.  The visible sun made up of fire element is merely a gross idol of the conscious demi-god Savita.  The very nature of idol worship involves manifestation of consciousness via inert material objects which are mediums.  Conscious divine light is Savita.  It is invisible.  It is widespread and present in all regions in the form of cosmic consciousness and divine radiance.  In order that soul consciousness deepens its bond with it, one meditates on its image represented by the sun (ball of fire).  In a different manner solar worship means manifestation of cosmic (divine) consciousness in the individual soul consciousness.  The soul can be compared to our planet Earth and divine cosmic consciousness as the sun.  It is due to the sun’s grace that life exists on Earth.  The Sun is the very soul of the world (Surya atma jagatsthuscha).  Just as there is a downpour of life on Earth from the sun, so too on the Earth of our soul there is a downpour of vital light from divine consciousness.  Thus in our inner being sways greenery in the form of glories and they bloom forth.  On this basis Gayatri is conjoined to its demi-god Savita.  Gayatri is also called Savitri which is Savita’s energy (divine energy).

In this manner by meditating on a divine female form one gets established in higher states of devotion.  Savita is Gayatri’s very life.  After visualizing the physical body , one can gauge the true state of an individual only by understanding his inner character.  This is why we march ahead so as to establish contact with Savita.  Within its realm there is no disparity or imbalance.  It should be understood only as a stepwise progress.

Gayatri is called vital force and vital force is called Savita.  Thus one concludes that Gayatri is Savita incarnate.  Gayatri is pure intellect and Goddess of Ritambhara Prajna (divine intellect). Vital force and Savita fulfil this goal.  This triangle according to scriptures have corners that are conjoined to one another.  There are many quotes that say that Savita is Gayatri’s demi-god.  For example –

“O greatest among all Rishis!  Its (Gayatri’s) demi-god is Savita.  Gayatri is the Chand (metre) and Rishi is Vishwamitra.”

“Savita (Sun) is Savitri Mantra’s demi-god.  She is the presiding deity of Vedic Mantras and hence is called Savitri.”

“We worship the supreme light of Savita (demi-god) who inspires our intellect to walk on the path of spirituality.”

“The Lord Surya (Sun God) gives birth to the entire world and hence is called Savita.  Savita is the demi-god of Gayatri Mantra and hence its divine energy is called “Savitri.”

         AMARKOSH

“Goddess Savita manifesting as the solar system inspires our intellect to imbibe sacred ideals and shun unrighteousness.  Hence we worship Her and it is appropriate that we yearn for Her supreme divine aura.”

         SHATPATH (3/1/13)

         SHATPATH(7/7/9)

“Gayatri is said to be Prana (vital force) and Prana is sun.  The Shrutis say – This rising sun manifests as vital force (Prana) in all creatures (Pranis).”

         SHATPATH (1/3/5/15)

This sun is light.  Divine light is Savita.   Gayatri is said to be brilliant like light.  Savita is a symbol of light.  Hence Savita’s light is the same as supreme divine aura of Gayatri.  It is further said –

“There should be no illusion regarding Savita light.  In order that it should not be looked upon as material light, a clarification is made that this light is a divine principle in its pristine purity.  Not even one spiritual seeker should err by saying that Savita light is not divine light.”

         T.A. (10/5/3), GO.UP. (5/3); TA (13/7/2); KO (17/6); TA(12/1/2); GO, PU. (5/15); TA. VRA. (15/10/5); KAPI. SAM. (30/2)

“God is called Savita because He succeeds in creating elements and purifying our psyche.”

“Sun is God, it is the command of great Rishis, they teach us to believe that God dwells in the sun.”

– CHANDOGYA UPANISHAD (19/1)

“I AM THAT PURUSHA (LORD) WHO DWELLS IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM.”

-YAJURVEDA (40/15)

“God is equivalent to solar light.”

         YAJURVEDA (23/48)

“That Goddess Savita in Whom a scholar immerses his mind and intellect and also performs sacred deeds, is the One knower of all.  We eulogize that all-pervading Sun God.”

– SHWETASHWATAR (2/4)

“That Lord is meditated upon in the solar system via one’s speech and mind.”

By giving many examples in the Gayatri Upanishad, we are being told that both are inseparably bound to one another like body and Prana (vital force).  Both are like 2 genital organs (male and female) which indulge in sexual intercourse.

When a spiritual seeker meditates on Gayatri’s divine light, he becomes radiant.  He who is radiant, indeed is powerful.  If a person merely develops his muscles without making his mind radiant and strong, he cannot be called powerful.

“He who has a brilliant aura indeed is powerful.  What does one gain by merely developing bodily muscles?”

– NEETEE

In reality Gayatri worship is meditation on radiance, vital force and divine might.  Hence its higher spiritual endeavour is called Science of Brahmavarchas.  A person who executes these spiritual practices gets a great chance to walk on the path of all round progress.

“A person who knows the secret principles of Gayatri, attains the supreme goal along with good merits, glory, wealth etc.”

– GOPATH BRAHMAN

In various scriptures it has been further said that Gayatri’s demi god Savita- sun is the center of knowledge of world life and science too.  Whatever is written in the Vedas is but a description of Savita energy.  Great Yogis try to attain it via austerities, faith and Yogic practices.  We may look upon it variedly in accordance with its name, form etc., yet it is Goddess Savita who is our true idol.  Every spiritual seeker has to endeavour intensely so as to attain Savita.

“Fire, Sushumna (subtle spinal chord), Moon, Gandharva etc. dwell in the sun.”

– SHRUTI

“This sun belongs to Rig Veda in the morning, Yajur Veda at noon and Sama Veda in the evening.”

– SHRUTI

“Rig Veda is the sun’s aura and Yajur Veda and Sama Veda are its idols.  It is God as Time.”

– SURYA SIDHANT

“I bow down to Sun who is the supreme abode represented by Riga Veda, Yajur Veda and Sama Veda.”

– SURYA PURANA

“One does not undergo any more births if one discovers the soul via austerities, sexual continence, faith and wisdom and thus one attains Aditya (Sun God).  Aditya is Prana’s (vital force) abode.  It is salvation and the supreme state.  A living being gets shelter from it.”

“All those conscious and inert materials present in the cosmos at this very moment, which were there in the past and which will remain in the future, have manifested from the sun.  In fact they merge into the sun.  Sun is Prajapati (Creator).  It is the species of existence and non-existence.  It is the imperishable, undivided and eternal Lord.  He pervades the entire cosmos.  All the demi-gods are His rays.”

-SURYOPANISHAD

“It is called Aditya because it is the first ray of the entire world.  It is called Savita because it creates all beings / non-beings of the world.  It is called Surya (sun) because it destroys the darkness of the world.”

– SURYASIDHANT

“The sun while rising in the east lights up the east, west, north, south, lower areas, upper areas and all the corners of the world with its rays.   In its rays dwells the vital force of the entire world.”

– PRASHNOPANISHAD

“I have seen and directly experienced the vital force.  This vital force protects all the sense organs.  It can never be destroyed.  It circulates in the body via subtle nerves.  It comes and leaves via the mouth and nostrils.  In the body it dwells as air and in the cosmos as the sun.”

– AITEREYA UPANISHAD

Great Rishis/ Munis who follow the path of Savita worship merge the light of their soul into, God who is the Super Vital Force, via Yogic practices.  In the Mahabharat there is a description of Shukadevaji attaining a certain spiritual state after performing spiritual practices which is given below –

“Shukadevaji said – By giving up my body which is in a Yogic state, I will enter the radiant sun.”

– MAHABHARAT

Upanishad authors after directing us to meditate on Super Goddess Savita have also thrown light on Her importance.  It is said aptly that she wards off all taints of the soul.

“May the inspirer of the world viz. sun, protect me from all sins that emanate from thoughts of anger etc.  May all the sins committed by me at night via my mind, speech, hands, legs, stomach, anus and genitals be destroyed.  I myself give Ahutis (Sacred Yajna offerings) by saying ‘Svaha’, to God who is sun manifest in nectar.”

TAI.A.PR. 10(A).32

“You are the soul and inner witness of all beings.  All living / non-living beings of the world are dependent on you and it is you who inspire the otherwise inert mind, sense organs and vital force.”

– BRAHMOPANISHAD

In Trikal Sandhya i.e. worship offered at dawn, noon and dusk, there is a description of 3 symbols.  At dawn it is Brahmi, at noon it is Vaishnavi and in the evening it is Shambhavi.  Gayatri is said to be seated on a swan, eagle and bull.  In reality it is the 3 fold-form of the 3 Vedas.  Goddess Savita is Riga Veda at dawn, Yajur Veda at noon and Sama Veda at dusk.  It fills up the spiritual seeker’s psyche with the 3 vaults of wisdom found in the Vedas.  Riga Veda is related to Yoga of wisdom, Yajur Veda to Yoga of action and Sama Veda to Yoga of devotion.  Savita meditation induces receptivity in our psyche towards these 3 Yogas.  These 3 precepts are described as Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.  Riga is Brahma, Yajur is Vishnu and Sama is Mahesh.  Via these 3, a person meditating on Gayatri by doing Trikal Sandhya attains wisdom, glory and pious qualities.  It is on this basis that God as Savita is depicted as 3 different images.

While describing Savita worship, Maharshi Yajnavalkya has given a compact gist of its importance, special features and its fruits as follows :

“I bow down to the Om manifest Lord! O Lord! You are the soul of the entire world and are “Time Manifest”.  You pervade in the hearts of all and also the external world right from Brahma (creator) to a blade of grass.  Despite this you are totally detached from all of them and hence You are the one without a second Almighty Lord.  You nurture all the living beings of the world via Samvatsaras made up of moments, ages, wink of an eye etc. and also by pulling water and then releasing it.”

-YAJNAVALKYA

Within Gayatri Meditation, whether a spiritual seeker worships God with name and form or without them, he must meditate on Goddess Savita’s radiant light.  In both formless light and meditation on Mother Gayatri’s image, one has to meditate on the radiant light of Savita.  Thus both Savitri and Savita are related to one another.  Both of them are like an inseparable couple.  Never forget this fact.
